Partner with HP for the environment!

HP’s footprint spans the globe and their entire value chain – suppliers, operations, customer use, and product end of service. It includes the activities of millions of customers, hundreds of production suppliers, and tens of thousands of nonproduction suppliers. Mapping the environmental impact of this complex system empowers them to take action where it matters most.

A longtime corporate climate leader, HP set ambitious new carbon and water reduction goals in 2016 and 2017. These will drive continued progress as they transform their business model to support a circular and low-carbon economy.

How can you contribute? Buy original HP supplies!

First of all, it is a myth that remanufactured cartridges are better for the environment. They leave a larger carbon footprint than original HP supplies. Remanufactured cartridges produce lower print quality, and thus more reprints and high paper waste.

Secondly, HP uses recycled plastic in the manufacture of Original HP toner cartridges. Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges have been engineered to use recycled plastic and recovered material and still meet HP’s demanding standards for quality and reliability.

Recycled plastic from HP LaserJet toner cartridges — returned by customers through the HP Planet Partners program — is combined with new plastic to create new Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges1.

In addition, HP calculates the amount of inherent recycled metal content in Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges to determine the percentage of total recycled content.
